YakPersonal: Family BBQ Party

I had an awesome time during my family BBQ party yesterday night. It has been a very long time since we got together. Hence, a BBQ party did all the trick. We spent quality time last night, bonding and yakking about anything that came to our minds. I highly recommend everyone to organize a BBQ party if you want to have a great family get together.

Organizing a BBQ party is actually really easy, fun and simple. The most important things, besides time, date and venue is obviously the food. Of course, there is nothing more important than the food, right? So, what kind of food to prepare for a BBQ party? In my opinion, the most important food item is meat, whether you like chicken, lamb or beef. Just prepare some meat and I would suggest satay too. Side dish can be noodles, fried rice, salad. Well, basically anything that tickles your taste bud.

When it comes to food, the more, the better it is
Satay, don't you just feel like having one right now?
Fresh fruits to give us the right head start

Homemade cookies, we try each others skills
Food is definitely the best part of it but even better, the process of getting the food cook. The most important thing we must know when having a BBQ party is, know how to get the fire burning. Besides that, patience and a few tricks up the sleeve. Especially when you are cooking satay for a lot of people. Don't tell me you are going to stand there fanning 100 sticks of satay the whole night? Here is our way of doing it.

Smart right? The wonders of electric fans
So, everyone just eat, yak, eat, yak and eat some more. That is the best part of a family gathering. We eat and we yak.

Lastly, I took about 700 pictures during this BBQ party so how about a picture of me? A little tip, find a mirror.

One picture out of 700, not bad

Go on, organize a BBQ party and enjoy life to the fullest!

The yakster had too much fun now she have a bad stomach ache.

My Sunday nights are now dedicated to visiting night market. Here is my trip to Paramount Garden’s night market. Located next to Giant, I suggest you to go there early to avoid fighting for a parking space unless you don’t mind to pay a few ringgit to park in Giant. There seemed to be quite a crowd at this night market.

I didn’t really look at the items for sale such as the clothes but I went straight for the food. There are quite a number of fruit stalls and I am impressed because the variety of fruits sold is as good as the morning markets. In addition, the fruits are sold at a much cheaper price. For instance, 1 kilogram of Langsat at RM4 and the usual market price is RM7. Now that is a good bargain.

Next, you don’t have to travel all the way to Kajang to get some satay. There are many stalls that sold satay but one in particular caught my attention.

This is what I call guaranteed hot and smoking delicious. It was even fanned with a genuine straw fan. Moving on, there were also lots of other stalls selling cakes and pastries but there was one stall that had a bakery concept and you can even see the oven they used to bake the goods.

Besides, the price is ranged from RM1 to at most RM 3 for each bun. Not bad I would say compared to other bakeries and the quality is just about the same. Last but not least, snacks and tid-bits when you want to watch football or just to have a little munch. There are stalls selling all sorts of nuts, dried fruits and other kinds of snacks. However, I highly recommend the peanuts that are usually served with nasi lemak.

My ratings for this night market would be around 8 upon 10 because the variation of goods sold is very good but the limited parking space is just a hassle. Don’t know where to go on Sunday nights? Visit this night market at Paramount Garden, located next to Giant.

Hello! Alright, this yakster here was just chilling out and suddenly an idea hit her. A new concept for the blog. I call it the Yak concept.

Every time I feel like yakking about something I will post a blog and the title will always have the word Yak in front of it. For example, if I feel like yakking about an event that is going to happen then the title would be YakEvent:__(the event's name)___ or if I want to start yakking about a book that I just read then it would be YakBook:___(title of book) review_____.

Yakking is what I do best and I will continue to yak, yak and yak some more. Here are some YakCategories that I would post up:
1)YakYak (random yakking)
2)YakEvent/Contest (about an event/contest)
3)YakMusic (music review)
4)YakBook (book review)
5)YakFood (food review/recipes/product)
6)YakPhotography (random photos/tips/event photos) by the Yakster ofcourse
7)YakShortStories (preview on short stories) by the Yakster or from other authors
8)YakMalaysia (Malaysia related)
9)YakEducation (subject tips/formula/etc)

New YakCategory will be added in the future if necessary!

For Your Information,
The Yak concept is strictly copyright for this blog and shall not be used without permission. Thank you!

PS: When you see the Yakster it is referring to me, the author of this blog.
